Trauma & courage in children of perpetrator societies

Growing up under German socializations

How we draw courage from our fear.

An atmosphere of silence & distrust is prolonged when we distrust ourselves.

Silencing is facilitated by how we foster our blind spots about ourselves.

Silence & denial grow with the positive thinking of an economic order that forbids looking at the lack we all share.

Economic chauvinism pushes emotions aside & fosters enjoying feeling better than others, persecuting others.

Germany is silent on arming unconditionally a country causing famine in Gaza.

Perpetrator legacies lead to eradication of difference.

Silencing our own trauma as descendents of perpetrators drains our courage.

Silence drains our readiness to stand up for sustaining difference & contradiction.

Silence as a refusal of accountability fosters an inability to work through our fear and to draw courage from our fear.

We can tap into our fear and draw courage from it.
